Has anyone gone to Gibraltor UK and used a private touring company? It looks like there are some nice tours out there.

Our ship sails from Ft.Lauderdale to Citevecchia Rome April 20-May 5,2014, The Celebrity Silhouette.:)

We want to take advantage of some good private tours.

Ports of call are

Madeira,Portugal

Gibraltor,UK

Scicily,

Naples,

Cagliari,

Rome Italy where we will stay an extra 3 days

I have been to Gibraltar and there really isn't any need to prebook a tour. Don't waste your money on the ship's shuttle pass either.

When you get off the ship you can stroll along until you find a line of vans waiting to take groups to the top of the Rock. These are very affordable tours, we even managed to talk our driver down since there was a group of us, so round up a few people interested in doing the same thing, and take the standard drive. It will take you to the caves, which are really interesting and to see the Monkeys, the top two sites. It is a beautiful view from the top and the driver's are informative and stop along the way.

They will bring you back to the gate to town and then you will have some walking to do to get back to the ship but it is a lovely walk through town and very do-able.

Have fun.
