mtsnd1900 Posted May 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2013 Just saw this article. They need to check their facts on ship sizes though. http://www.sunjournal.com/news/maine/2013/05/07/biggest-cruise-ship-visit-maine-2015/1359971 Facts on ship size are accurate. Article states largest ship to hit Portland. Quantum, at 1141ft, will be 9ft longer than the reported length of QM(2) at 1132ft. As for passengers on these ships, Quantum will have a capacity of 4180 double occupancy, while QM2 holds in at 2620. Quite the difference in comparison for passenger to space ration. UCF_Knight Posted May 7, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2013 I'm not going to fly from Florida to New York to do a Caribbean cruise. I will fly from Florida to New York to do a New England/Canada cruise.

I will fly from Florida to New York to do a New England/Canada cruise. I agree. Well, I have to fly regardless. But if I'm going to the Caribbean, I'll fly to Florida vs. flying to NY. That being said, I am EXCITED to see they definitely will be doing a NE/Canada cruise. This has been on my list of either fall 2014 or fall 2015. I think this makes up my mind to plan on fall 2015! I would suspect those will open up with the normal schedule next spring. Only a year to wait to book and learn more about QOS by then too!

Rare Familygoboston Posted May 15, 2013 #10 Share Posted May 15, 2013 I don't have to fly- and this might tempt me to try Quantum, even though the ports are in my back yard- just to check out the ship! May not be able to fit it between the Balkans and Antarctica though.
