ATV excursion North Cape and kayaking in Norway

We are booked on the Rotterdam HAL, sailing 3rd of August 2013 and my husband and son are looking forward to kayak in the fjords and the ATV excusion offered by HAL. Does anyone have experience with this ? Is it easy to make reservations yourself instead of booking an expensive excursion?

I'm Dutch so please forgive me if my grammar is wrong.
