roddyW Posted May 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Hi Joining Costa Facinosa next weekend for 7 day trip round the med. Is it worth taking the DJ for formal night? Also how smartly dressed are others for the evening meals in the main restaurants? Your replies greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
G.M.T. Posted May 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2013 Hi Joining Costa Facinosa next weekend for 7 day trip round the med. Is it worth taking the DJ for formal night? Also how smartly dressed are others for the evening meals in the main restaurants? Your replies greatly appreciated. Many thanks. I personally wouldn't pack a DJ, too much excess baggage charges, I'm sure an iPod would play just as good music as a DJ.:) There are normally a set number of formal dinners, for 7 day cruise 2, 10 day cruise 3, 14 days plus would be 4. In the daily "TODAY" program guide it will state what type of dinner in the MDR it will be i.e. Casual / Leisure, Gala / Formal. The formal dress code has been greatly relaxed in recent years, on the shorter cruises the average age tends to be younger and so the formal evening much more leisurely dress (even just shirt and jeans). On the longer cruises the average age is old and you will see some DJs, but more likely blazers or dark suits, but even here it is much more relaxed than it used to be. If you enjoy wearing a DJ, just do it, after all it is your cruise. Have a great cruise. Ron
