kiwismith Posted August 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2015 This reply is two years too late to help Alexandra, but I will answer anyway in case others have the same question. We recently (July 2015) returned from the Avalon "FROM THE INCA EMPIRE TO THE PERUVIAN AMAZON" trip. This was a packed itinerary and a great trip. The land portion covered lots of history, with the highlight being Machu Picchu. For the cruise portion, our group was transferred to The Aria, owned by Aqua Expeditions, where we merged with other passengers who had booked their Aria cruise directly with Aqua Expeditions. Both the Land and River portions of this trip were awesome and I would recommend both companies and itineraries. Starting next year, it appears that Avalon is launching their own river vessel, The Amazon Discovery, to cover the river portion of this trip. The Avalon Website shows the Discovery similar in size and amenities to the Aria, but we won't really know how they compare until someone writes a review. Regards, k

kiwismith Posted August 3, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2015 Hi, DrivesLikeMario. It was a wonderful trip. I did submit a review of the cruise portion only, posted here: http://www.cruisecritic.com/v-3/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=509519&et_cid=2232003&et_rid=17319249&et_referrer=Boards
