6 of us Posted May 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2013 All you health conscious peeps, have you taken your protein powder, almond milk, apple cider vinegar & other health supplements on board? I am assuming this is fine since peeps can bring boxes of soda & bottles of wine. Should I pack it in my luggage or do I need to carry it on? Apple Cider vinegar is in a glass bottle so that can be carried on like wine, yes? How about milk? Do they serve almond milk on board? I am a nutrition nut so... I need my stuff  Thanks so much! I appreciate it :D.

irishnyc Posted May 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 13, 2013 You're entitled to 12x20 ounce non-alcoholic drinks, just like everyone else.

I also try and drink soy/rice milk as its better for me a long with my husband needing glucose drinks in case of being low (diabetic) so I am going to try and ring so I can get a confirmation to on show boarding so they know I have over the required amount. I happy to give up my milk but my hubby needs his drinks just in case.

virginiab Posted May 14, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2013 Soy milk is available onboard; I'm not sure whether almond milk is available. You'll need to ask for it at the buffet as it is not on display. I assume it is also available in the main dining room although I have not actually seen anyone asking for or getting it there. chipperberg Posted May 14, 2013 #7 Share Posted May 14, 2013 We bring coconut milk and have not had a problem yet plus a bunch of snacks for the kiddo. You should be fine with all of that. I think I would carry on some almond milk and the vinegar and supplements. Please post upon return and let us know how it went.
bobsfamily Posted May 14, 2013 #8 Share Posted May 14, 2013 Apple Cider could be considered alcoholic if it has "turned":D:eek:. All, except liquids can be in checked luggage. Liquids may or may not make it in checked luggage.
ready2cruzagain Posted May 14, 2013 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2013 I have taken Protein powder and had no problems. It was in my checked luggage in the original container. As far as the vinegar goes you would need to take it in your carry on and follow the size and amount restrictions. I do not remember seeing Almond Milk anywhere but they do have Soy Milk. As another poster stated you have to ask for the Soy Milk. I have had problems in the past when I asked for the Soy Milk I have been told no, they don't have it. If you get this response, speak to someone else because they do have it.
Bella8286 Posted May 14, 2013 #10 Share Posted May 14, 2013 We eat clean too but don't stress it on vacation. Yes, you can take protein powder, put the ACV in your carry on and no, they don't have almond milk onboard. We stick to the omelette station (you can request egg whites there) and the Wok. Otherwise, we eat in moderation, enjoy ourselves and just do a cleanse when we get home! :p
Hanzo Posted May 14, 2013 #11 Share Posted May 14, 2013 I'm tossing my dietary contraints overboard as soon as I get on the ship. I don't get the point of vacation if you can't let loose. Isn't food a major draw of cruising? To each their own I suppose.
quickrate Posted May 14, 2013 #12 Share Posted May 14, 2013 You can bring all of the things you mentioned with no problem. I would probably bring them in my carry on. We relax on vacation about diets but still eat pretty close to the way we do at home just cause we feel better if we do. Pat
Trish12345 Posted May 14, 2013 #13 Share Posted May 14, 2013 I've taken a 16 oz bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar in my carry on. No one says a word. Maybe they know what it is, maybe they thought it was wine(?), maybe they didn't care. Don't forget the straw.

I saw some cartons of almond milk but wasn't sure how many or how I could carry them on. How many did you bring & did you just put them in a carry on bag? 6 of us Posted May 15, 2013 Author #15 Share Posted May 15, 2013 By the way, this is not a diet for us, we eat clean for health & it makes us feel fantastic 24/7. Of course we will have to slack up some but we do not want to feel like crap on our vacation by eating bad, our bodies just aren't used to it, so we will do what we can to keep it clean :D. It's not a hardship.
Rottweiler Puppy Posted May 15, 2013 #16 Share Posted May 15, 2013 I didnt take any of that. I just made smart choices when eating. In place of protein powders I just doubled up on meat from the deli. My cruise is my recovery week anyway so while I hit the gym onboard, I dont do anything heavy.
