Jenjer Posted May 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2013 My DD does not sweat. I know it sounds awesome but really not so much. I would take sweat over heat stroke anyday. One of the reasons why we cruise beacuse we have access to medical care, just in case. She has a "ice" vest we bring along anytime we go ashore. It has to be frozen at lower than 50F. On past RCCL they have cool boxes that are no were cold enough so the room steward takes it to the infirmary and brings it back. We always tip an extra $20 each time he/she does this. I know its a big tip but I also feel like its a very special service for us. Are there "cool" boxes or refrigerators on Allure in a standard balcony? There is something in your room but not sure I'd call it a "cool" box. We put our extra water bottles in there & it didn't get them cold but not hot either..If you need to keep anything actually very cold, I'd contact them. I'm sure they can make arrangements..not sure I saw anything that actually said a temp but I'm sure it was not 50 F or lower..
m*u*g* Posted May 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2013 I beleive all rooms have them if not mistaken. Not sure why they do, they don;t do a lot, but understandable. I'm sure they control the temp to save power.
Jenjer Posted May 16, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted May 16, 2013 Thank You. another not so cool box :-) No point in contact them, I have before and they have always said to tell the room steward, there is no way they can put a real frig in the room but I am welcome to store it in the infirmity. Her Doc thinks its a cool genetic thing so he is very accommodation on any notes we would need. She is the only patient he has ever seen with it. Actually NCL said the same thing but I was contacted by 3 people on embarkation day including the ship Doc to make sure everything was taken care of. Way above and beyond IMO.
