Questions about the free Thames cruise and walking tours with the Big Bus Company

For those who have done the Big Bus Company's hop-on/hop-off tour, do you know if you can "upgrade" from the free one-way cruise to a roundtrip cruise? It would be great if it could be done. I noticed that the cruises run later in the evening during the summer, which gives you more use of your 24-hour bus ticket!

 

How were the free walking tours? I'm especially interested in the Royal London Walk that is timed to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. Does the tour group get a preferred viewing spot?

I e-mailed City Cruises, and the answer about upgrading to a roundtrip cruise is, "Unfortunately you would need to purchase another single journey."

With regard to Changing of the Guard, I do not think you can reserve any preferential viewing spots but I assume your guide would use their local knowledge to point you to a good spot.
