admax Posted May 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2013 We are going on Avalon Creativity on May 28 down Seine and to Normandy. Where do they usually dock in Paris? Right or Left Bank? Is it close to some Paris landmark. We are traveling with another couple and we are staying in Paris after the cruise for two. We are staying at Best Western l' Premier Horset in the Opera District. I know we won't be able to see everything but will be busy. What is your favorite place in Paris. We did purchase a Paris pass for the two days. We are really get excited!!! TravelingLadyOhio Posted May 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2013 We are taking this same cruise in July '14. I hope you will post a review and any suggestions on places not to miss. Enjoy. This upcoming cruise will be our second one with Avalon. We did the Rhine and loved it.:)
Nippy Sweetie Posted May 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2013 Yes Paris is really worth seeing. Its astoundingly beautiful. Even just walking around soaking up the ambience is great. The Creativity was moored near a park I remember. We could see the Tour D`Eiffel in the distance. We had arranged our own flights and contacted Avalon offices in Paris regarding where to meet the boat. They helpfully faxed us a rough map which we gave to the taxi driver who took us from Charles De Gaulle airport. She followed it OK but got a bit flummoxed by the one way system and apparent sudden bringe required to go down an unexpected slipway. I dont know if thats where its always moored. Suggest that you check with Avalon. Its a brilliant itinerary btw. Easily our favourite. You`ll enjoy yourselves enormously I bet. Hope you do anyway
