Cost of choosing your room (GTY vs non-GTY)

We've had excellent luck with veranda guarantees for the last few Med. cruises. I'd say we saved about $2500 each time. I'll take the money over the "perfect" cabin anytime. It just means we can cruise more often. The best views are always going to be on the sun decks anyway, so we get up and "go up" if we are coming into a beautiful port.

Just had a look at this and as we are booked on the Eclipse, if we took a Balcony Guarantee we would lose our drinks package as the GTY cabins do not get it.

 

For us that is just to big a hit to take so will stay with our Oceanview room in the middle of the ship.
