The Windjammer also features a WJ Cafe Veranda on the starboard side, however I never went there, I just noticed it on the deck plans.

The next deck down is DECK 10 which is mainly all cabins. However, the SEVEN HEARTS GAME ROOM is located here just off the CENTRUM on the forward side. Just about every time I looked across the centrum as we were taking the stairs I saw folks in there having a great time. They have some board games stacked up in there as well.

Guess what's next? DECK 9, which is also all cabins, with the exception of the LIBRARY which is also located just off the CENTRUM on the forward side. You can borrow books here, pick up daily trivia & Sudoku sheets and they also had a puzzle set up on a table just outside that anyone could stop by and add a piece to.

One more deck down on DECK 8 there is a EXPLORER'S LOUNGE just off the CENTRUM which features a computer and some comfortable furniture to relax on. The rest of deck 8 is all guest cabins.

image_zps7058d26e.jpg

DECK 7 is the location of the BUSINESS SERVICES where there are multiple computers and printers available for use (at a cost). The remainder of deck 7 is also guest cabins.

Ok folks, I think that's about it for tonight. I'm hoping to cover Decks 6, 5 & 4 tomorrow night which will take care of the public parts of the ship.

Then on Thursday evening my plan is to get the Cruise Compasses, Spa Pricing, Laundry Pricing, Shore Excursions, etc. scanned and hopefully uploaded.

And finally on Friday during my lunch hour I hope to post pictures of my Christmas ornaments that I collected during our Alaskan Adventure. If it doesn't happen then, it may not happen until next week as I am having 3 of my grandbabies (4yr, 22 mo & 3 mo) spend our last weekend together before they move to Florida from Texas (17 hours away). I'm going to be so sad when they leave since they are only an hour away now. I'll have a 1 yr old grandson who lives just a minute away still here and hopefully we still have a few more to come in the next few years.

At least this will give me an excuse to cruise out of Florida now... at least that's what I keep telling myself to keep from crying :( :( :(

Thank u thank u thank u thanks for the amazing reviews and all the great pics and videos. I still haven't decided on which alaska cruise to do, and your review is definitely helping with the decision making process. I can't thank u enough for the awesome reviews. I live in hot and humid florida so it's nice to see the pics of the glaciers and wish I were there :)

Thank you SO much! We head out ONE WEEK FROM TODAY and board the Radiance next Friday (I am GIDDY!). It is so awesome to read this and see the pics!!

I'm so excited for you! You will have such a fantastic trip. The Radiance is wonderful, lots of glass so no matter where you are you can see the scenery. There were several sightings of whales and even Orca close to Vancouver right from the ship... of course I missed them :)

Have a great time!

Is there a charge for this cafe? Radiance pixs are great Again I thank you for all the effort and time you have put in to give us a wonderful experience of your Alaskan adventure....Am counting down to ours in Aug.

If you ever cruise out of Florida, we love leaving from Port Canaveral. It is so easy not crazy hectic like South Florida.

Thank you for taking the time to do this review. My husband and I will be doing the land portion on our own followed by the cruise next year. It will be our first aft balcony. The information you have provided is a wealth of information.

Love the pictures

OCD - I have met my cruising twin!!! There has never been anyone I've known so obsessed with cruising as I have...until now. I haven't even read the whole review yet - just on page 2...so I'll probably post again. YAY!

Mary

Mary, they say everyone has one! Thanks for taking time to post. Hope you have a little time on your hands... I tend to be rather wordy :)

Hope you enjoy my journal and pictures along the way. Feel free to post as often as you like.

I am really looking forward to the ornaments as that is what I collect as well from our cruises. If you remember can you let me know where you bought each one. I especially want to see the glass boat with Alaska 2013 on it. It is already on my list to purchase

Since you were on the same cruise tour that we are taking in 23 short days I am really getting excited now that I have read your review. Wow you have spend so much time and given so much valuable information. My Hat is off to you and THANK YOU AGAIN for doing this, all the information you have provided is going to make quite a bit of difference on our trip.

Yes, I will be happy to list where I purchased my ornaments. I think I even took pictures of most of the places at least from the outside.

I'm glad that the information I have given will help you with your trip. You will have a wonderful time. I hope you are as lucky as we were with the weather. It did not rain a single day in 2 weeks we were there. I guess we were always out in front of it. Got some mist when we arrived in Vancouver early morning then it was a beautiful day there also :)

Thank you for the great review, I can't wait until our cruise and cruisetour in a few weeks. Is there a soft serve ice cream place where you can go and get ice cream any time like on other ships, I believe it was called sprinkles.

At the back of the Windjammer near Rita's Cantina there is a soft serve ice cream machine. I think there was always vanilla, sometimes chocolate & strawberry too. It was self-serve up until the noro started then they had someone serving it the last 3 days. I never tried it but hubby got some one time. He said you could put it in a cone or cup and make it a single flavor or twist. But there was no sprinkles or toppings to add on.

RADIANCE OF THE SEAS, ship picture tour... continued

We're now down to DECK 6 and for the next 3 decks 6, 5 & 4 there will be a lot of pictures because this is where the majority of the public spaces are other than deck 11 which features all the pool areas and buffet.

Beginning at forward of deck 6 we have the AURORA THEATER (which is actually on both Deck 6 & Deck 5) where the evening entertainment happens such as production shows, game shows, entertainers, etc. During the day the area is used for guest speakers, BINGO, etc. I do not have very good pictures of this area because it was pretty dark but here's what I got:

Looking down from deck 6

The reserved seats for the Suite guests:

Heading toward the aft of the ship, next is the CINEMA were a variety of movies played throughout the week such as Skyfall, Big Miracle, Lincoln, Argo, ,etc.

image_zps3ae0810f.jpg

Following the cinema is the QUILL & COMPASS PUB which features n old world theme. There is trivia contests and entertainment in the evenings. This is also where our Meet & Mingle party took place:

Just after the Pub is the Casino Royale which features a good selection of table games, slot machines, a bar and more:

Cindy ~ I truly enjoyed reading along about your adventures. We have been on the Radiance (before her refurbishment) and loved it.

We are planning our Alaska trip for 2015. When you started planning, did you have any question about traveling with RCCL? I mean, I have heard that smaller ships can get into places that the larger ships can not. Did you consider this at all?

With all the planning you did, is there anything you would do differently now that your are home?

Nancy :)

Just after the Casino is are two more bars, the CHAMPAGNE BAR and the SCHOONER BAR:

Approximately the back third of DECK 7 is taken up with the following venues:

The COLONY CLUB which features a couple of bars, a dance floor, seating and nightly entertainment and/or games such as Quest, Battle of the Sexes, etc.:

SCHOONER BAR continued:

Also in this same area on DECK 7 are the specialty restaurants CHOP'S GRILL

IMG_7663_zpse6fbc9e0.jpg

and GIOVANNI'S TABLE

IMG_7666_zps34751c4a.jpg

The Chef's Table Dining Area is also in the area but I never made it back that far to take a picture.

I believe this finishes out Deck 6 so we'll move on down to DECK 5 FORWARD which holds the bottom floor of the AURORA THEATER.

Just outside of the theater is the ART GALLERY, PHOTO GALLERY & SHOP and the CONFERENCE CENTER:
