allsettocruise Posted May 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2013 I have heard that they serve lobster tails the first night only in the MDR's. True?
eynsteinp Posted May 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2013 Several people have posted that they do. I was wondering if they served lobster in all 3 dining rooms or just the large mdr.
SliceOfLife Posted May 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2013 Yes, it's served in all three MDR's on the first night.
tymike Posted May 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2013 I asked the pre-concierge about lobster night and was told it was the second night. Was I given the wrong information? Also...do the specialty restaurants have lobster on the menu during lobster night or only the MDR's? Thanks so much! :)

Also...do the specialty restaurants have lobster on the menu during lobster night or only the MDR's? Thanks so much! :) Lobster Night is Sunday night, so they gave you the wrong info. Only the MDR's have lobster. If you have your heart set on lobster get to the MDR early, we showed up around 7:00pm and they said over a 45 minute wait. Burpelson Posted May 29, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 29, 2013 Dear Tymike, You can also find lobster tails and shrimp at Cagneys, at least according to this menu: http://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/19424_Cagneys_web_breakaway_052113.pdf
Burpelson Posted May 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted May 30, 2013 Also. one of Gambees posts (around 348, page 18, I think) shows that Ocean Blue On the Waterfront has lobster rolls. One would think that would be a daily offering.

babygirl722 Posted June 10, 2013 #11 Share Posted June 10, 2013 Apparently, lobster night is always embarkation night fleetwide. I too was given the wrong information on one of my prior cruises.

lalise Posted June 11, 2013 #13 Share Posted June 11, 2013 Yes lobster on the 1st night. It was very good. Ocean blue was 50- pp so we skipped that especially when we heard that they were asking 35- when the ship 1st started sailing & the response was great- so they jacked up the price & people don't seem that interested. The raw bar was empty every day. Just saying... Send from device_name using Cruise Critic your_app_name App
nycmode Posted June 12, 2013 #14 Share Posted June 12, 2013 For our sailing on the Breakaway 2 weeks ago, it was on the first night in the Manhattan room (surf & turf). It was actually pretty good... We got there early, pretty much once we sailed out of NYC we headed to the MDR. And yes, get there early, it was pretty packed by 630pm
ericnyc Posted March 5, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 5, 2014 Is lobster still served on the first night in MDR during 2014 cruises?
sungirl10 Posted March 5, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 5, 2014 I was on the breakaway in Feb and Lobster night was the first night.
Rare KeithJenner Posted March 5, 2014 #17 Share Posted March 5, 2014 Is lobster still served on the first night in MDR during 2014 cruises? Fairly soon after the Breakaway launched they stopped serving Lobster in the MDR. However, it seems that it has now returned, as verified above. Lobster night is the first night, fleet wide, so if it is there then that's the night it should be served.
Tate90 Posted March 5, 2014 #18 Share Posted March 5, 2014 I just sailed the Breakaway last week and lobster was served the second night in the buffet. They were not in the main dining room the first night. They were small but delicious.

cruise_alot123 Posted March 5, 2014 #20 Share Posted March 5, 2014 We just off the Breakaway this past Sunday and shoveled 8 inches of snow on Monday. Ouch...However, lobster night is the first sea day which is on Monday night. They called it a seafood buffet night and they do serve all kinds of seafood including seafood pizza, ceviche, and all you can eat lobsters. I think I had 8 lobster tails and they are very tasty and no need for the drawn butter but they do have drawn butter next to the lobsters if you need it. As for the line, we showed up around 6 PM and there were no lines maybe 3 or 4 people in line and they have 3 or 4 stations that serve lobsters so no worry about the long line. Always plenty of food to go around and if you see a line, just walk around to the other station and the buffet area is very big. Great cruise and people are happy, very clean and new, weather was 85 degrees in GSC, and Nassau, did not get off the ship in port Canaveral since we've been there many times before so we just do the zip line etc... Casino is smoky and you can smell the smoke inside the elevator on deck 7 and always packed with gamblers young and old. Casino does open when we docked in GSC which is new to me b/c I thought when the ship docked the casino is not suppose to be open. The Burn the Floor show was great and Rock of Age was also good but long almost 2 hours. Rock of Age is not for young kids and did see a few people left in the middle of the show perhaps do to some sexual acts. Water in Hot tubs just lukewarm and always crowed unless you go around between 4 to 5 PM. Walk off is super fast and easy. We choose to walk off at 7:40 AM and was in the parking lot by 7:55 AM.
