Just starting to research for 2014 and came across this excursion offered by Princess from Juneau. Anyone know if HAL or any others are now offering it or will be offering it?

More description about the tour? My guess is that it includes a bear "search" near Hoonah. I know something like that is also offered by an independent operator.

Not sure which excursion you're referring to, but if Ketchikan is on your itinerary would highly recommend the "Neets Bay Bear Cruise" . . . an excellent ride up the waterways to a salmon hatchery where the bears congregate and just feast. Beautiful scenery and saw bears, seals, eagles and orca. Offered on both Princess and Celebrity for sure.
