beach and snorkeling

would like to do some snorkeling in nassau and freeport and relax on a beach with food and beverage service. any ideas would be helpful. please no shore excursions. thanks.

I would also like some info on best places to snorkel and whether you can/should snorkel from the beach in Lucaya. Going to freeport in January.

I was in Freeport in April and we ended up doing the snorkel tour from the ship (it was great!). However I did do a lot of research and from what I found the best snorkeling from the beach looked to be Paradise Cove/Deadman’s reef. It is on the west side of the island and you would need to take a cab there. They offer snorkel packages and rent equipment. They also have a snack bar and serve drinks. http://www.deadmansreef.com/
