Main Deck Statendam Aft Outside Deck Area Question?

Recommended Posts

We were recently on the Amsterdam on the Main Deck - midship. After we got home, friends told us they had been on the Amsterdam Main Deck aft. They said there was a door to an outside area where there were chairs and that people in these rear cabins were often outside using the area as their sitting area. I have read others on CC say that this is an area for the crew and is not available other than being able to use stairs for easy access to the Lower Promenade Deck.

Does anyone know the real story? Maybe it is different on the Amsterdam. The Deck plan for the Statendam does show a door at the end of the corridor to an outside area.

We are considering the Statendam for a cruise and since we do not get seasick we thought we might try the aft on Main Deck - especially if this rear deck area is available for passengers.

Thanks.
