cruisinonmymind Posted May 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2004 I lost 40lbs in 5 weeks doing the Herbalife diet. The first week was hard because I was hungry.I won't lie. BUT, I was determined to lose the weight before my postbaby cruise. I went from a size 14 to a loose 10. I am happy with that size because I know my body shape is no longer made for a size 7 JR's. I ate about 1400 calories a day and followed the plan. I have gained about 15 pounds back over the last 2 years, (my own fault eating too much junk food and too many soft drinks) and I will be back on my Herbalife diet soon to help me with my July cruise. Good luck to you all and happy cruising Married on Fantasy 9/95 Ecstasy 3/2001 Fantasy 9/2002 Sensational Cruise 7/24/
SondraC Posted May 2, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2004 Wow, that's great it worked for you! I had a different experience though. I used the product for over 2 months, without any loss.

mzanella Posted May 10, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Anita & Melody, The program costs just under $3 per meal and it is two meal replacements per day (breakfast and lunch). The program is based on personalized protein and is very versatile. I went from a size 12 and sometimes 14 down to a size 8. I don't think I can really go smaller than that but I still have a few more pounds to lose. herbnjod Posted May 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2004 This is crazy!?!?! Do you really think starvation (see the research on calorie restricted diets) and treat your body like that....resch showed that depriving yourself of necess. fuel eventually shows up as a binge eater or secret eater...I thought ppl were gettting the message about healthy eating and that theres no quick fix...can u do this for the rest of your life....even reduce intake of cals as your body ages and burns less? I'm so dissappointed ladies... Celebrity Century Millenium Thanksgiving!
mzanella Posted May 21, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 21, 2004 Let me set you straight on this. This is not a starvation diet. In fact it is quite the opposite. These are high protein shakes filled with the vitamins and minerals your body needs in order to function properly. Besides my 2 shakes, I have 4 servings of fruits, 2 servings of vegetables, a salad, and a well balanced dinner. I consume 1200 healthy calories and 100 grams of lean protein a day. I agree starving your body does more harm than good. Studies also show that good nutrition is the key to healthy living. These shakes are made with soy and whey protein which studies have shown are the best types of protein for a body. I've lost the weight because I am no longer starving my body of the nutrients it requires to function effectively. My energy level hasn't been this high in years. And my metabolism has actually increased. When I hit my goal weight (which is in another 7 lbs) I will drop down to one shake per day to maintain. I'm not giving up the great nutrition they provide my body. The PA Zanella's till we set sail on Explorer of the Seas
Rare Terre Posted May 24, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Were you hungry between the shakes and meals? Every shake or drink I've tried leaves me starving in about 30 minutes to an hour after drinking them. I recenlty heard about Gold Standard Protein shakes developed by a doctor/nutritionist for the Olympic team, White House and pro sports that supposedly has more of the essential proteins and minerals than most protein shakes and people say they weren't hungry between shakes and meals. He says you're not hungry because it has the right proteins and minerals in it. I can't find anyone on the boards who has heard of it or tried it. Let me know about the Herbalife shakes and hunger. <MARQUEE>Forever Cruzin...</MARQUEE> Emerald Seas 1990 & 1991 Dolphin 1992 Fantasy 1996 Soveriegn of the Seas 1998 & 2000 Norway 2001 Century 2002 Triumph 2003 Paradise 2003
herbnjod Posted June 7, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 7, 2004 ok, so here's another question for you....can you do this for the rest of your life?? I love different foods too much to drink shakes the rest of my days...plus actually eating and chewing and smelling are vital to the body's sense of satisfaction and saiety. I just don't understand in a world where ppl eat too much why ppl continue to use fad ideas. Look at what happened to Oprah after she quit drinking all those shakes. Plus, starvation has nothing to do with vitamins minerals and whatever is in your shake....it has to do with caloric intake and expenditure. You may be doing more harm to your metabolism than you know, but good luck anyway. Celebrity Century Millenium Thanksgiving!
