Mykonos - Splendour - Anyone know where the tenders leave you?

Recommended Posts

Tender leaves guests at the top of the Town Square. Sometimes though the ship docks and there is a shuttle bus - 5 minutes - which drops off in the car park near the ferry station. A short walk and you're in Mykonos which is fantastic!

We were on Splendour a couple of weeks ago and we were docked in Mykonos and got the shuttle bus in. The buses were excellent, very frequent and only a short walk into the harbour, bar and shops area.

We're just off the Splendour and were docked too, got the shuttle which is $8pp for an all day pass and once this dropped you off we walked for about 10 minuutes along the beachfront to Alegro restaurant - great food!

Great! Thank you! Do you remember seeing any car rental places? I've been to Mykonos before and the island is pretty easy to Navigate. Wondering if I should take the shuttle bus into town and walk around for a bit and then get a car to go explore.

The Splendour also docked in Mykonos when we were on her although another ship was tendering in.

The shuttle buses seemed regular enough and it wasn't far from the Town, it's a lovely port to walk around.

Next year, I would also like to explore more of the island! :)

There is also a local shuttle bus which picks you up right outside the port and drops you at the same place as the RC shuttle and costs just over 1 euro

Just off the Splendour, we used the shuttle and did see the local bus

stop further along the road and some people were waiting. This looks a good option but you need to be aware:

The local buses are small, we used the local bus to take us back from a beach in May (last week) the bus only runs hourly for that route. It might be wise to check out the frequency as you may have a long wait. If there are too many people waiting you may not get on the bus our local bus was full.

Some people walked from the dock but the road is narrow in places and has no pavements.
