Hula Pie?

I'm sure I will find out when I get to Hawaii next month, but what does a Hula Pie consist of?

 

Seen photos, but what is the gooey looking white stuff in the middle?

Perfect answer for a keen amateur cook! Thank you. I especially like the alternative pie with ice cream on top. Love the accompanying descriptive finale:

 

"We like topping our tart with a drizzled swirl of melted chocolate. Some might think that optional, or a bit much. We don't eat dessert with those people."

 

I might give this recipe a try next weekend, just to get in the mood, assuming I can find macadamia nuts here in the UK!

 

Darn that's another 2 lbs I'll need to lose after the cruise!

Personally I think it's over rated as it's just an ice cream cake with chocolate sauce. Certainly don't order one each just get one and split it.

 

I will recommend their coconut shrimp though!
