Guest Posted June 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2004 For when the SWIFT Pledge ends. I was thinking..everyone here is on different Diets..Woes...... WW, Akins..South Beach..Low cal..ect. ect! We have to get thru the summer, we all would like to lose or at least stay the same..NO GAIN! It's slower thru the summer (weight loss) because of...... school vacations, kids home, bbq's..picnic's..family vacations..people visiting..ect. ect.! So was thinking..The SLOW Pledge.....which means SLOW PlEDGE..Summer Loss's Our Way! It means we will lose thru the summer even if it's slow, we will do it our way/plan. We won't gain! It will be for twelve weeks..get us thru the summer. June 17th till September 9th! What do you think?
ElaineB2 Posted June 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2004 I would be interested. It would give me motivation to eat moderately on our 6/20 cruise. Then when I get back I'd really have to watch as the blues will set in since we have nothing planned. But, I've made up my mind, I must shed these pounds for a healthier lifestyle - not just when I want to look good for vacation. Hope others want to join in. GinandAl Posted June 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 6, 2004 Hi! Name the new pledge whatever you want, I'll be there to weigh-in each week. It helps keep me motivated. I have 4 graduation parties coming up so they will be a test of my willpower! We can motivate each other to at least stay the same or even loose! Good luck to all! pazooter Posted June 7, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 7, 2004 I'll be there too! We head to Seattle and visiting family on June 17, then the cruise 10 days later, so I'll have to join you all when we return July 6. I'd like to finally drop the 5 pounds I keep complaining about. QTPieRye Posted June 7, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 7, 2004 Although I am new here.... I am also interested in this pledge, as I cruise September 18th.. thus the timing is perfect to keep me motivated and on-track. I would like to lose 25-30 lbs in the next 15 weeks. I started the SBD yesterday and other than a terrible headache, I feel fine. A little tired, but nothing that would keep me down. lka1012 Posted June 7, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 7, 2004 I'll join in too. Though I have two different time tables. My 30th high school re-union is July 3, so I am in the final stages of toning up. And my cruise is Dec 6. My weight is down. I have mainly cut out on the sugar I put in my coffee and tea and watched what I ate as well as addinbg walking to my routine. But I want to lose the "wingspan" under my arms and tone up two of the three rolls of pudge on my tummy. So whatever we are doing, count me in! Kathy Last Cruise -- Maasdam - E. Lill Posted June 8, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 8, 2004 Sounds good to me. I was hoping to be at goal at the end of SWIFT but it's not happening for me. Maybe SLOW will go better for me.
