Cinque Terre back to Portovenere

Our ship leaves Portovenere at 5:00. The 3:00 ferry is scheduled to return to Portovenere from Cinque Terre at 4:10. That seems a little too close for comfort. The Ferry group says there is a return at 2:00, but I don't see that on their schedule for June 2 - September 8.

 

What have you done? Is it possible to get a taxi from one of the towns and get back to the port that way? About how much would that be? Taking the train seems like an ordeal, as you have to ride to La Spezia and walk 15 minutes to pick up a bus back to Portovenere. Has anyone done that and then picked up a taxi in La Spezia? Again, about how much was that to Portovenere?
