mgm61 Posted June 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2005 We are first time cruisers and I was wondering what kind of security do you have to go through? Same as the airports? Metal dector but anything else?
kplattzzz Posted June 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2005 Yes, there will be metal detectors, and, if I remember correctly, an x-ray for your carry-ons. There were also dogs (DEA?) I think when we disembarked. karen
mom x4,grandma x4 Posted July 5, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2005 They do run your carry on bag through a x-ray scanner as you enter the terminal. Your checked baggage is x-rayed then sniffed by dogs who are lloking for explosives and drugs. Everytime you leave the ship you have to show your KTTWK and photo ID. When yopu get bakc on the ship, everything is scanned again and both pieces of ID are checked before you go u p the gangplank and again as you actually step on the ship. They scan you on and off everytime. They also have hand washing stations you have to use before you get on the ship and they are outside all the restaurants too. So they are even trying to protect you from germs as well as terrorists. I pretty good idea I think. The scanning is very quick too. mom x4,grandma x4:o
Pixie Dust II Posted July 20, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2005 It is just like at the airport if you are in Florida, but on the west coast it was a fiasco! Bring the Magic back to Florida and keep her there! Those people are crazy in California and don't know how to get people on a ship! When you get off of the boat you cannot take any food items with you no matter where you are leaving the ship from. Florida does a better job of getting you off of the ship too! Have fun! You can't beat a Disney Cruise! Seven times and number 8 coming up!
