richarduk Posted June 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2013 Can bottles of alcohol (spirits) be purchased onboard for stateroom/balcony consumption? We do that on other lines but cannot find anything regarding Costa? Thanks.
CASPALL Posted June 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2013 If you look on their website under 'Already Booked' there are prices for champagne there. Can't remember where I found the duty free shop prices - it may have been on this forum. It's quite pricey. After doing the research we've realised that the all inc drinks package is the way to go. Friends of ours did a Costa cruise last year and brought 2 bottles of gin onboard - hidden in their suitcase! Caryl
Capricruiser Posted June 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2013 When you buy alcohol in the on-board duty-free shop they hold it for you and deliver it to your cabin on the last cruise day. Costa goes all out to discourage bringing it aboard either in checked luggage or when returning from a shore excursion. Probably to limit wild parties in the cabins? That said, you can usually get by with a bottle in your baggage but there's no guarantee it will pass.
richarduk Posted June 29, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted June 29, 2013 Thanks, however I was asking about purchasing bottles onboard for in stateroom consumption via room service or a bar etc, not duty free, as we have done on other cruises:cool:
