Tybro Posted June 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2013 If you're stopping in Tallin Estonia on your cruise, you really should watch the documentary called "The Singing Revolution". You can get it from Netflix. It tells the story of Estonia, the people, their struggles over all the years of occupation and the part that singing played in their revolution for freedom and still plays in their lives today. It is very interesting and made our stop in Estonia so much more interesting. We were able to see the singing grounds off our balcony (wouldn't have even known what it was if I hadn't seen this first. As we walked around, we could picture many of the scenes from the film and we talked to some of the locals about their singing traditions. It really added a layer of interest to this port. "The Soviet Story" is another film I suggest everyone that will be visiting Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania or Russia should watch.

hubofhockey Posted June 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2013 It's also available to buy on iTunes for $10 or rent for $3. Maybe I'll watch it pre-cruise on our flight to Europe next year.
