SixOneTwo Posted June 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2013 We're staying near the Tower and are interested in visiting Highgate. I see we can get there most of the way via tube, but I wonder if it's a reasonable cost to go via taxi? Any good guesses?

LondonTowner Posted June 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2013 It is quite a distance from the Tower to Highgate Cemetery. Just as a rough guess I would think a one way taxi fare would be in the region of £30-40. Take the tube to Archway, come out of the station and turn left which will take you on to Highgate Hill. You will see a bus stop. Take the 271 bus to Highgate Village which is the end of the line and get off there. You can walk to the cemetery from there. Whilst in the vicinity you could visit The Flask or Spaniards Inn, both old historical pubs, Hampstead Heath and Hampstead Heath where you will get some good views over London. If it is open, as it has been closed for refurbish, Kenwood House is also well worth a visit. So plenty to see and do in the vicinity.
