My sources say that 8344 has the largest (widest) aft balcony.

I hope you got that one!

We have had 8344 but it is not the only extra large balcony on the aft. It was larger than the two on either side of us. As we looked down the aft, it seemed that every other balcony was oversized

It is true that there are similar balconies on each deck, BUT the op specified deck 8.

8344 Should have the widest balcony on deck 8.

For the other decks find the cabin in a similar position, the fourth one from the right (starboard) side of the ship.

I'm attaching an aft picture of Reflection. We've booked a March 2014 sailing on Silhouette and have booked C1-1210. Your balcony looks to be a similar size to #1210. The cabins down the center have additional width on the balconies because of a room steward closet on each deck. We had the same cabin on Reflection and the balcony has an additional 4 ft of width. Hope this helps. :)

The S-Class balconies are wide, but not nearly as deep as the C1 cabins on the M-Class. We had an aft on Deck 7 on the Reflection and we were disappointed in the balcony size after being aft on Century and Millenium.

We had 9384 on the Silhouette TA in April 2013. This was one of the larger balconies, however agree not nearly as big as those on the M Class ships. We prefer the aft cabins, even if the balconies are not that large, as it is quiet, you can relax and watch the wake behind you, and you should get more sun per day, than being on one side or the other.

It also depends upon price, we have booked a 1C cabin for both the Xmas and NY Equinox cruises this year, as the difference in cost for a SV or C1 we considered was not worth while. Although will keep checking for any price drops.

Take a look at post #4 on this thread http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1212541

There is a column of balconies - just off centre - which have the widest balcony, although the cabin is the same size. The extra space is due to a cupboard between two cabins.

I believe the picture in the link above shows Equinox. We had the wider C1 balcony on Equinox a couple of years ago (1674). On Silhouette the cabin numbers are one off. We've just returned from Silhouette and again had the wider balcony but this time the cabin number was 1676.
