lovestocruise19 Posted July 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Just got back from a 4-day Boston to Canada cruise with my DH, stepdaughter and stepson. It was unlike any other cruise we have been on for a few reasons. One was that the stepkiddos had never been on a cruise. Two was the weather and three was being able to drive to the port (although it will be our first and last time most likely as Carnival is pulling out of Boston starting next summer). Here is a photo to start off. Glory docked in Saint John: I actually have to work tomorrow :(, so I will only post a bit tonight, but I hope to finish the review in its entirety by Sunday night. lovestocruise19 Posted July 5, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Embarkation was by far the easiest embarkation we've ever had! If you punch in 22 Fid Kennedy Ave. into your GPS, it will lead you right to the cell phone lot, which is where Glory cruisers park. Plus there are a lot of signs and security guards/police telling you where to go. Once parked, we waited just a few minutes and then were able to get on the yellow Yankee bus to take us to the cruise terminal a couple blocks away. First whale tale sighting! Glimpse of Glory from the cruise terminal: We dropped our bags off with the porters and filled out a customs type form for Canada. We then got our sign and sail cards. Blue for the kids and red for us (just ONE cruise day shy of being back to gold). We got inside the terminal at 10:15 a.m. and were boarding by 11:15 a.m.! By far the earliest we have ever gotten on a ship!
ksimpso3 Posted July 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Looking forward to your review. We are taking the same one on July 9. I am kind of leary because of the weather, and because the other Carnival cruise I went on years ago was a nightmare...but I am going with a group of 8 other women, so we will make the best of it. Hope you had a good time and can alleviate some of my concerns.
lovestocruise19 Posted July 5, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted July 5, 2013 I wanted to catch DS's and DD's reactions upon entering. I think I captured their awe well. LOL! Colors Lobby: That's all for now! I'm exhausted (and sunburnt-no not from the cruise, but from Fenway Park!) so I'm going to bed. It is going to be one long day at work tomorrow. I will post more after work. Let me know if anyone has any questions!

I know it could be cooler when we go- but the rain I could do without.

lovestocruise19 Posted July 5, 2013 Author #13 Share Posted July 5, 2013 where is the potato chips? did they do away with the potato chips?? I've actually never seen potato chips at the Deli (just pickles and cole slaw and such). It would certainly be a welcome addition. I did notice that they had Sun Chips in the EA Sports Bar. lovestocruise19 Posted July 5, 2013 Author #18 Share Posted July 5, 2013 After we ate, DH and I gave the kids the grand tour of the ship since we were both familiar with the layout having been on both the Freedom and Liberty, which are both Conquest Class ships, as is the Glory. funinthesun1964 Posted July 5, 2013 #20 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Glad to see you're doing a review. We did the Glory out of Boston last summer for a 5 day trip to Halifax and Saint John. We had rain in Halifax. It was interesting though. Did you guys have a midnight buffet w/outdoor deck party? We didn't, just wondered if all are like that. Will be reading on as you continue....
