cost of cab to Herculaneum?

I assume there will be cabs lines up by the port. Any idea how much a cab will be from Naples to Herculaneum? From what I gather it is not very far. Is the entry still 11Euros?

There is a fixed fare for a round trip to Ercolano, with a two hour stop at the ruins, of 70 Euro. To get the fixed fare you must specify this before the trip begins/before the meter is engaged. It's a good idea to download and print a copy of the fixed fare chart, which you can find on the City of Naples's web site here: http://www.comune.napoli.it/flex/cm/pages/ServeBLOB.php/L/IT/IDPagina/1193Note that the third Adobe file is in English.

If you're feeling confident, you can try and negotiate a better price once you know what the "legal" fare is.

And yes, there will be many taxis at the port, some with fairly aggressive "salesmen" (by which I mean that making my way through them to walk into town I must have said "non, grazie" at least a dozen times).

The entrance fee to the ruins at Ercolano is 11 Euro.
