any input on the Westin in Maui?

One of my travel agents in highly recommending the Westin in she Maui-she said that it is right on the beach and that everyone she has booked there loves it-however after checking Tripadvisor it does not seem like folks are overly thrilled with their rooms. They do recommend that if you do book there it is an luxury oceanfront room rather than their suites as those are older and drab. Just checking in here to see if any of you folks have experience with this place? Thanks in advance for your help :)
