Mt Etna weather

Hi,

 

We are taking a tour on our cruise that leaves next week and going up Mt Etna (not on the tour that goes all the way to the top). It looks to be in the high 90s in Messina and was wondering what the temperature may be up on the mountain.

 

 

Last time we visited, we were there in October and it was snowing.

Since it's not clear how far up you will be traveling, how about the range?

 

According to latesthikingweather.com, today it was 27C (81F) at the base at 1 PM, while at the same time it was 10C (50F) at the summit.

We were there in August and the Summit is chilly. Shorts and a fleece or sweatshirt (for the top only!) layered with a Tee worked perfectly for us.

Spoke with my tour operator this morning...it was snowing on Mt Etna summit this morning:D
