hsb5956 Posted July 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2013 Greetings to all A few questions but no answers yet. Taking the October 8 17 day Transatlantic Reposition Fram Las Palmas - Buenos Aires Attempting to figure out what the weather might be while at sea for the 17 days I can plan clothing to bring and or need to buy. I understand Hurtigruten provides on exposition journeys which this TA is classified as a rain wind wet gear how warm or not so warm is it. Thinking warm how warm we do cross the Equator But then again might it be cooler for how many days before we hit warmer weather Will it be rain or dry mostly if rainy any need for rain pants Thinking not so ruff ocean Long sleeve or short sleeve shirts for day time Evenings how cool do they get bring a cotton or wool sweater My TA experience was on Star Clipper 2010 the end of October Las Palmas - Caribbean 13 nights sailing and motor sailing water was very calm only 2 days with rain. First couple days were cooler finally it was real warm shorts weather. This cruise is going in a different direction. Any suggestions, advice, or information is most appreciated thank you HSB5956
SarniaLo Posted July 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2013 This is a trip I'd be very excited to take. I can only answer for the jacket : the jacket provided is a windbreaker/rainjacket (and a very good one) but it is not lined so it is not warm. Yet I think your main weather worry on this trip will be rain and wind but not so much cold, so when necessary a sweater under the jacket should be well enough. For the weather on the trip, have you checked Fram's blog? http://mvfram.blogspot.com/ You can see the report for similar trips from previous year, it might give you an idea on what to expect.
