Rare Terre Posted July 16, 2013 #26 Share Posted July 16, 2013 Don't send anything you really care about...maybe underwear and socks. We threw in some of my husband's t-shirts. They were folded, but not pressed. I don't think pressing is part of the deal.

Ocean Dancer Posted July 16, 2013 #28 Share Posted July 16, 2013 Do NOT use the free laundry service on the Splendor:mad: Every thing was ruined and unwearable........so wrinkled that you could NOT iron out the wrinkles, even underware and socks. We were given some OBC, but not enough to replace everything. This was on a 49 day cruise, and we rinsed out a lot of things after that.
Pisgah Posted July 16, 2013 #29 Share Posted July 16, 2013 I am confused about the Platinum free laundry service. I was under the impression that you get 3 wash and fold for each guest on a 15 day cruise. I read on a thread that is is more than three for a 15 day cruise. Is there anyone that could clear this up. We have a 15 day to Hawaii in Sept. Having more that three would help.
Catrin Posted July 16, 2013 #30 Share Posted July 16, 2013 We have had a few very different experiences with Platinum Laundry. On the Dream, they LOST my laundry. I made a HUGE mistake by giving them a bag of laundry on our last full day. It never came back that night, and we had to leave the ship the next morning without our Laundry. I was SO upset that my room steward had lied to us and kept telling us it was coming. We waited in our room until midnight because we had to put the clean clothes in our luggage! and the laundry never showed up. ( It was eventually recovered and we received it via FED EX three weeks later). On the Liberty, I was cautious to try it again.. and it was perfect. As another poster mentioned, we itemized the dry cleaning bag list daily and wrote PLATINUM with our FOLIO # Each time. We used each of our Folio # twice. To answer the original question... we always added our kids clothes, even when they were not PLatinum. Same room, didnt matter the clothes. We are experts of rolling and folding clothes to fit into that bag! We amaze ourselves with how much can fit!! As long as you are limited to the three bags per seven day cruise, I dont think it matters if you share the benefit with a cabin mate. Pom Lover Posted July 16, 2013 #31 Share Posted July 16, 2013 Someone mentioned doing your own laundry on the turn around day for a B2B. Be sure to check what time the laundry room is going to be closed that day. On our last B2B I went to do laundry while everyone else was getting off the ship and it was locked. I asked a room steward and he said it is always closed the morning of turn around day. Ugh! It didn't open again until the ship set sail.
Bandman Posted July 16, 2013 #32 Share Posted July 16, 2013 We have been platinum for a while but just used the free laundry for the first time last month on the Dream. Clothes came back folded and on the wet side of damp. We will do our own from now on. :(
gusandgidgetsmom Posted July 16, 2013 #33 Share Posted July 16, 2013 I did not realize it closed. I have always put my laundry in early in the morning on a b2b between cruises and then gone to breakfast or gone to recheck on the ship and then gone back to dry it. What ship were you on?
