Is there an entrance to the Roman Forum from the north…near Comune di Roma?

Everytime that I have walked the Forum, I entered at the Colosseum end and exited near Comune di Roma on the north end. Is there an entrance near Comune di Roma on the north end. What is the shortest path to the Forum walking from the Trevi Fountain?

Since they re-instituted the fee for the forum there are only two entry points, the Via dei Fori Imperiali entrance (near the base of Via Cavour) and the Palatine hill entrance.

 

The former entry/exit points at the Colosseum and near Piazza del Campdoglio are now exits only.

 

Therefore, coming from Trevi, the closest entrance will be Via dei Fori Imperiali (three quarters of a mile on foot).
