Couch or Chair?

I am currently in an aft extended balcony with a chair. There is a cabin on the same deck with a couch...same shape room and same dimensions, just 1 has a sofabed and one has a chair. Is there a difference in walking space with a chair vs couch? We are just 2 people so we don't need the sofabed part..just wondering which is preferable and why. Thanks!
