wynkys Posted July 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Hello, While on board Balmoral in April 2012 for the Titanic Memorial Cruise charter, I paid a GBP750 deposit for the 2014 World Cruise. About a month ago, I decided that I won't now be able to undertake that cruise and I contacted your head office to cancel. It was my understanding that charges would apply if I cancelled, however, I was disappointed to find that the charge applied was for the full amount of the deposit. This, to me, seems excessive and I would welcome your comments. Thank you, Wayne Keys (Booking Reference: OD26880
Nathan Philpot Posted July 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2013 Thank you for comment and it is shame that you are unable to take the 2014 ‘World Cruise’. However, as per our standard terms and conditions, deposits are non-refundable under any circumstances. In fact, on ‘World Cruises’ we collect a nominal deposit, in this case only £750, as opposed to our now-standard 15% (10% at the time of your booking), in recognition of the fact that, when booking so far in advance and for a ‘World Cruise’, a 10/15% deposit is a considerable amount to pay up front. The deposit would otherwise have been £1,640.00 based on the overall cruise value.
