Very Early Flight in Quebec

Recommended Posts

Our flight departs Quebec City at 6:30AM (ship is overnight in port) we will be disembarking ship approx. 4:00AM. Has anyone done this?? Are taxis available from the port that early??

I have contacted two taxi firms by email asking for a reservation but have not received any response.

Any recommendation for private transfer??

Please and thank you.

And check. Will you have to do a customs clearance on the morning you disembark? While the ship will be cleared the day you come in the passangers might not be.

Here's a senario for you. You dock Fri night and go ashore for a good dinner just like any other port. Show your cruise card and off you go. Back to the ship for a nightcap and a good nights sleep. Do you think CBSA is going to let you off the ship for good with that kilo of coke in your luggage which you didn't bring with you the night before to dinner? I'd bet you have some form of final customs and immegration clearance to do the day you depart. I'd seriously check this out because you might just not find them open at 4 am.

Hello Sue,

If you are on the Eurodam Sep 12 sailing, can we share the transfer with you ?

Our flight departs at 5:20 am.

Or can you let me know which taxi company responds to you + I'll email them too.

Cruisingly Yours,

Angela

If your first port of call in Canada is not Quebec City, You don't have to go through CBSA on your disembarkment day. CBSA always process in first Canadian port, for a New England cruise, more likely in St. John, New Brunswick or Halifax, Nova Scotia. But CBSA will random check on cruise passenger's luggage during disembarkment.

Quebec City is small but the airport is distance away (25-30 min taxi ride). If overnight in Quebec city, on first day of arrival, just ask cruise terminal staff to call any taxi company for a following early morning pick-up. Make sure you pay the Cdn $35 fixed-rate (Tarif fixe) taxi fare, fare will be higher if metered.

Angela, you are very welcome. Been to Quebec City 3 times, last one was on a New England cruise from Quebec City to New York.

If this is your first experience to Quebec City, you will love the city. Quebec City old town is very small, can be walkable. To avoid walking up all the stairs to Terrasse Dufferin promenade, take the EcoloBus (Electric Bus), fare $2, get on the bus stop near the cruise terminal and get off the stop near Chateau Frontenac. In summer free laser show and cirque du soleil.

One of Tom's Port Guides does cover Quebec City for DIY.
