How do price drops work?

Hey my fellow Cruise Critics:

When you book ES, do you get credit for the same price drops? For example:

You book a cabin for $600/pp on ES in Jan

In April the price drops $50 for lets say a resident rate so its $550/pp

in May the price goes back to $600

in July the price drops $50 again to $550 for the same resident rate sale

Would your OBC be $100 since there were 2 sales, or only $50 since it was the same sale twice?

Just curious! Thx!

Just once.

If the price drops $50 to $550 you now price match to that instead of the initial $600.

If the price goes back up $50 to $600 after you get the price drop you aren't giving the $50 back so there is no price drop for you if it goes back down another $50 since you are still at $550 from the previous drop.

No, you can only get the price drop once. The lowest price is then used as the reference for future price drops.

Makes sense! Thanks for the clarification.

So basically regardless of the type of sale, if the price drops lower than the lowest price you paid (in my example, the first drop to $550 would represent the lowest price paid since you would have received $50 OBC), and if you qualify for that particular discount, you can receive OBC up to 2 days before sailing- great to know!
