Your Past Experience.. diverted from NYC?

Hi all....

 

Well, sure enough, this Sunday, we sail on the Splendor out of NYC...our first time sailing south from anywhere but Florida. And.. yes, lots of talk about Dorian heading this way.

 

My question for anyone sailing in the past from NYC ... have you ever sailed during a storm.. and the ship diverted NORTH instead of South?

 

Any chance of this Bahamas Cruise becoming a Canada Cruise?

Could become a cruise to nowhere and just go out to sea.

My cruise to Bermuda ended up being a cruise to Canada, Boston and Bar Harbor.

 

But it was smooth sailing. If you think it might happen, just bring a couple of warm sweatshirts and a pair of warm pants. We were glad we did!

Othe people were on the ship with babies and nothing warm to put on them.

My very first cruise was supposed to go to Bermuda, but we headed north to Canada due to a storm. We still had a great time. There is nothing that anyone can do about the weather, so you just have to make the most of whatever ports you go to.

Absolutely.

Sure, it would be a shame if our ports were cancelled and we went to Canada. But I LOVED our two previous Canadian cruises. I would rather cruise to ANYWHERE than be in the middle or the tail end of a tropical storm.

 

I guess we will know in a few days!

Its not a good idea to sail during hurricane season besides you will still be on a cruise.
