your thoughts?

I was wondering your thoughts on the following places to visit in Bermuda.

(1) Paget's Marsh

(2) BUEI

(3) Warrick Long Beach

(4) Clarence Cove

(5) Spittal Pond

(6) Shelly Bay Beach

(7) Fort St. Catherine

As you can see, we are looking to experience the flora and fauna, and natural beauty of Bermuda --- we would only go to BUEI if the weather was poor.

Apart from the obvious beaches (e.g., Elbow, Horseshoe, and Tobacco) are there other locations that you feel would better represent Bermuda?

Thank you!

Hi.

Warwick Long Bay: beautiful beach with nice swimming and snorkeling. Small stand with sodas etc. Easy to reach on bus#7.

St Catherines: Not as pretty as WLB, but very nice. Clear, calm water. NOt much to see for snorkeling.

Re other beaches, I thought John Smith was very nice. Water was calm and clear, beach not crowded. You can reach via Bus #1. This is a nice alternative to the South Shore beaches, especially if you are visitning in the afternoon, when they are most crowded.

Hope this helps.

Spittal Pond is fairly close to John Smith's Bay so you can see both. Spittal Pond is nice to walk around if you like natural settings.

There is an island that is a nature preserve, Nonsuch Island. The Government has been trying its best to only have native plants and animals on that island and it is a breeding ground for the endemic (and endangered) Cahow. There used to be regular tours of the island but I'm not so sure if that's happening this summer. Google "Nonsuch Island" and see what you can come up with.

If you are interested in exploring the flora and fauna of Bermuda, do consider a walking tour with Jo Cook!! http://www.bermudashorts.bm/outandabout/

She is very knowledgeable, reasonably priced...and a terrific lady! She lists different tours...but will design one just for you! We have done tours with her, and we can highly recommend her!!! She'll show you places you would never find on your own.

Happy planning!!
