I could never bring myself to pay more than 5 bucks for a beer on land or sea, even if it is a micro-brew. Don't pay that much here in tourist country, won't do it on vacation where I am already dropping nearly 2k for the family to cruise.

 

I bring wine on board legally, then have a Bon Voyage bottle, which I have paid an arm & a leg for, to drink during the cruise. Beer is for ports. I pack a collapsible cooler and once in Port go to the nearest grocery store, 12 packs or so can always be obtained at nearly every port for buck a bottle and often less. Then ya got beer for the day as you wander the port.

I'm not so concerned with the beer. I am more interested in have plenty ice when I want it. I'll probably buy a collapsable one and take it with me along with some small plastic trash bags so I won't have icy cold water all over the bathroom floor. We are in a cove balcony right by the mid ship elevators so I can go up to the casino bar and get the ice I need.

Your cabin steward will be happy to fill it also. They have ice machines in lots of their storage areas/work rooms on all decks.

I am an iceoholic too and totally understand. That is why I bring a cooler.

 

My addiction is decaf tea with Splenda. I bring a couple of 32 oz water bottles and make sun tea. Got to have my ice 24/7

 

I bought a cooler that is 12x12x11 with a hard plastic liner a couple of cruises ago. Works perfect.

 

I just thought the CCL one from Bob Voyage looked fun.

 

I also drink my share of boat drinks. :D

If I remember correctly, on the Breeze the 101 oz tube of beer was $27.95 plus 15% gratuity.

I am an "Iceaholic"!!! There, I said it.

 

First of all the "ice bucket" in the cabin is actually an "ice cup". Second of all the ice melts so fast in them. When we get back to our room at night, it is half water. We have even gone so far as t wrap a bath towel around the ice bucket to help insulate it. Nothing works. Maybe ice buckets that actually had insulation would help.

Thirdly, I like LOTS of ice in any drink.

I bring some soft drinks and want lots of ice. I have grown tired of calling and calling again and again for more ice. I add ice to cold water.

 

Hi, my name is Jenny and I am an Iceaholic. :D. Sonic ice is my greatest weakness, but I have also binged on regular crushed ice. That silver ice cup in the cabin doesn't come close to satisfying my daily habit. I am up to at least three 24 oz ice cups a day. Even with less ice chomping while on board we need the cooler for our BV beverages. :)

The last 2 coolers I took I left plastic bags in them for the cabin steward to fill. I even opened the bag & placed it in the cooler. The cabin steward took the bag out, folded it neatly and placed it on the counter, then filled the cooler. IT LEAKED. At least it was in the bathroom. I always sit the cooler in the sink. But I'd like to get one that DOESN'T LEAK.

 

I'm going shopping today. I'll check some of them out before I order from Carnival.

 

I also like a cooler that doesn't leak and have found a picnic cooler by 31 ( google online) DOES NOT LEAK AT ALL and it is tall enough for the long necks with plenty of room for ice, has a nice shoulder strap and a front pocket. I think they are $35 but are well worth it, I just ordered a second one because we use ours so much!

Thanks for the picture. Can you get a tube on all ships? Indoor and outdoor bars?

We have had them on Valor and Liberty. We only had them in the sports bar, can't speak for other locations or ships.
