Sunshine 12 day med cruise - quick port review

Hi we sailed on sunshine on the 7/7 cruise and thought I would give you all a few hints on excursions from a newbie to cruising!! Monaco - self guided. Really easy to get around and such a lovely town.

Pisa - we done Pisa and the winery. Well worth it and the winery was my favourite excursion. They talked about the wine making for only about 5 mins and then we had the most amazing meal with LOTS of free wine.

Rome - Rome at its best. A very long excursion but well worth it. Our guide was fab and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pompeii - Pompeii only with guide. This was a good experience but would recommend the early tour and then go into town after the excursion to soak up the atmosphere. We didn't and I now regret it.

Venice - get lost in Venice on your own. We did the boat tour, it was 2 hours and a bit of a waste of money to be honest. Go into the back streets away from tourists where the best authentic restaurants are.

Dubrovnik - again self guided.

My enta - we booked the motor coach tour but ended up not going. Spoke to people who did go and they said it was ok. My advice would be if you are going to do it go right up to the top.

 

This was our first cruise so we were not overly adventurous and any excursions we booked was through carnival.

Thank you for the review.....sounds amazing. We are looking into taking a Med Cruise and going to the same ports.
