Giron75 Posted June 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2005 I am leaving next week on the Legend:D , and I want to try to put my daughter into the camp. She is 21 months. I know the age requirement is 2yrs old. Do they check passports or do they take your word for it? She is often mistaken for being 2 yrs old (talks, walks, acts like a 2yr old). I am also putting her older sister in (4 yr. old) could this make a difference. Is there any chance I get away with this? Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated. How long does the orientation last? If my daughter doesn't want to participate in the orientation activities do I still have to stay for the whole thing and miss dinner? Sorry for being long winded, I'm new at this. Thanks
serene56 Posted June 30, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2005 Welcome to the boards.. Its a wonderful way to learn your way around cruising. Make sure you visit the family board--lots of information there to learn what it takes to travel with a toddler You wont be able to use the camp for your 21 month old-- they are very strict and yes alareayd have the birthdate on record--you needed a birth certificate to get onboard remember. You dont thave to stay after orientation--its like an open house that first night-people will come and go- Your kids cant stay in the camp that first night without a parent is all. Did you take late seating for dinner?
FLCruisinMom Posted June 30, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 30, 2005 We just got off the Valor this past Sunday. When we arrived, the Camp already had name tags made for all the children on the ship 2 and up. It included their name, cabin number and age. They know how old each child is. There was another time to sign up for the Camp later on in the evening just before 10p.m when babysitting opens. Your younger child can go for babysitting but not to regular activities. Have fun :)
F5Loar Posted June 30, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 30, 2005 No way, they know and will not bend the rules for anyone. The babysitting service is from 10PM to 3AM at $6 per hour first child and $4 each additional child from same family. Lot of good that does unless you like the casino late night. In port days the service runs from 8AM to noon which is rather strange too since it's hard to go into a port hours before anything opens and have to be back on board to pick them up by noon. We used it often. they did take our 18 month old between 12-2 on days when we were at sea. The staff was great.all in all camo carnival was really great! serene56 Posted June 30, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 30, 2005 they did take our 18 month old between 12-2 on days when we were at sea. They took the toddler without making a parent stay?? thats is very odd. Camp is opened for the under two between noon and 2 but a parent always had to stay.
