AZbeachboy Posted August 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2013 I was just upgraded to a balcony on the Carib deck on the Golden. It was not much of a change from Fore to Aft but it is two decks down from the Aloha Deck which we had booked. In reading some reviews about the Golden and other Princess ships, some have stated that on the Carib deck the balcony's cabins have the extended deck. Does anyone know if that is true. Thanks for any help. Jim
zaddict Posted August 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Yes, they are double deep, nearly square. Half covered and half uncovered. Plus, there are cabins both above and below, so less noise. Excellent upgrade!
AZbeachboy Posted August 6, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Thanks for the reply. I did not think it was much of an upgrade until I learned that. My other cabin was just 8 cabins to the aft on Aloha. I will be nice to have passenger cabins both above and below. I was uncertain if we would get much noise from the buffet. We were underneath a DR on one cruise on RCI and every morning about 2:30 we were awaken by the vacuum cleaner running. So I feel fortunate. Again thanks. southpawsdakota Posted August 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Great upgrade! Caribe balconies are our favorite for the reason of them being larger and 1/2 covered. So, if it is raining you can escape under the covered portion. We have 4 Caribe balconies booked for our Sept. 1 Alaska cruise. Enjoy!
sassyredhat Posted August 6, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 6, 2013 We have our first Caribe booked on Golden for Oct. Usually we are on Baja. I booked a corner aft for DH. He likes to sit on the balcony and watch the ocean, so I'm happy about the extended balcony. Pat
