thinking of a last minute cruise on Summit

We usually cruise RCI, and this would be our first Celebrity cruise. Not much cabin choice left so we will probably go with a guarantee.

Does anyone have any tips or hints for us?

I know that we get reciprocal status in the loyalty program...we are Emerald with Crown and Anchor, what would the benefit be on Celebrity?

We are former RCI cruisers, too! We decided to try Celebrity because they have stricter smoking policies: no smoking anywhere inside, and no smoking on balconies. Summit was our first Celebrity ship two years ago, and we loved it! We went on Reflection this past January and are going to Bermuda on Summit in September.

I don't know what Emerald status would translate to on Celebrity, but hopefully someone else will let you know.

Hi,

Captains Club info:

Equivalent recognition between program membership levels works as follows: Celebrity Cruises' Captain's Club Select level is equivalent to Royal Caribbean's Crown & Anchor Society Platinum and Emerald levels and Azamara Club Cruises' Le Club Voyage Explorer level.

Here are benefits of Select Level:

Select Member Benefits*

(5-9 earned tier credits)**

• 25% off one Internet package (some exclusions apply)

• Complimentary pressing of 2 garment items

• One standard bag of laundry (wash, dry, fold) at discounted price of $20 during cruises of 12 nights or longer

• Exclusive Captain's Club Celebration Event onboard each Celebrity sailing

• Priority embarkation while boarding the ship (where available)

• Invitation to a complimentary wine seminar event

• Priority status for shore excursion waitlist

• Invitation to the exclusive Senior Officer's Cocktail Party

• Complimentary use of the Loyalty Desk member service center between cruises

• Complimentary access to the onboard Loyalty Host during your cruise

• A premium onboard discount booklet filled with special offers during each cruise

• Pre-sailing specialty restaurant reservations available before your cruise

• Annual member Reunion Cruise with additional member events

• ***One category upgrade prior to sailing (when available)

• Complimentary online Captain's Club newsletter with the latest program news and information

My other tip...Just go and ENJOY !! Celebrity Summit was the first Celebrity ship we sailed on, and when we became fans of the Line.

If you are going to book a last minute cruise, check out this link and book mark it. It comes out every weekend for Tuesday specials. They have "guarantees" but if you book a C2 or C3 cabin, you can call your travel agent and pick a particular cabin. If you book a guarantee and are assigned a particular cabin, you can change to another one in that same category that is available on the ship.

We booked a Tuesday Deal a couple years ago and got a really good C2 cabin.

Thank you! We have a courtesy hold on two cabins for the Summit 8/25 cruise, and got the Tues special price. We were able to pick the cabins. I'm not sure if they are in the best location, but we wanted the two cabins as close together as possible, so this was the best option. (Deck 9 very forward - one regular balcony and one inside diagonally across the hall).

We sail on both RCI and Celebrity - prefer Celebrity for the little things (like trays in the buffet area). My one tip - the aqua spa cafe for lunch.

If you had the other post about location of rooms (forward on 9th) - I don't know about those rooms, but we were forward on the Summit in December on the 7th floor - it was quite the walk, but at least we didn't gain any weight!

We will also be on the August 25 sailing - Happy Cruising!
