beckyjohns Posted August 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2013 It's always been the case on our cruises that Camp Carnival isn't open on the 1st night of a 7-night cruise. Our last cruise was only 4 nights and Camp WAS open the 1st night. Does anyone know if Carnival has changed the 1st night policy or if it was just different because it was only a 4-night cruise? Prinycesa07 Posted August 8, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2013 We just went on a 7 night in may and it was closed the first night. I think I remember reading that its open for shorter cruises??
Carnival_Brides Posted August 8, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2013 It's usually closed the first night for 7 day cruises. However, they do usually offer a family dance party the first night in the disco--it's a highlight for my niece.
Prinycesa07 Posted August 8, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2013 What Carnival Brides said (i also got married on a carnival ship :)) There was a dance party the first evening. I think around 7 or 8?? And then right afterwards everyone was invited up to the kids club to view it and talk to the counselors.
Rare mitsugirly Posted August 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2013 We just got off the Dream 3 months ago and they were only open to sign the child up. (I later learned that they had some type of family gathering or something in a different area that night that we could have went to but didn't know about it). But to drop your child off at all...the answer is no. :(
crusinmama06 Posted August 17, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 17, 2013 I haven't been on Carnival in a few years but if they are the same as they always were - then it was shorter cruises they do open on the first night. Longer cruises (7 night) - they were only open the first night for sign ups.
blondestickchick Posted August 28, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 28, 2013 On our last cruise, Camp Carnival did open at 10 p.m. (the for fee portion) the first night. We had pre-enrolled so we dropped off our paperwork, went to the family party, did Build a Bear and then at 10 p.m. the Night Owls program started so my son (6 at the time) stayed until midnight, no problem. However, as seems to be the norm with Carnival, YMMV.
