looking for hotel

Looking for a decent hotel near the cruise port. Would love to use Marriott points to save money for the cruise. Any suggestions?

Closest Marriott properties to the cruise port are probably the Renaissance Barcelona Fira, Renaissance Barcelona, and Hotel Arts.

If you are willing to go other than Mariott, check out Hotel Jazz. It's towards the top of La Ramblas, but we have heard great things about it. We pre booked it a few months ago for 227 Euro and rates just went down. We now have the same room for 148 Euro including 2 breakfasts. All kinds of good reviews here on CC. With the money we saved on the rate change, we booked a transfer from the hotel to the pier with BCN Travel.

I am looking at the Hotel Jazz for my TA next Oct. How was the breakfast, is it worth the extra $13 (9 Euro)pp? We are staying two days and the room is $220 (163 euro) including 2 breakfasts each day or $195 (145 Euro) without. Hopefully the rates will drop as I get closer. Any opinions on your stay?

We stayed at the H10 at catalunya square. There are rooms that have a patio with a table, sunbeds and umbrella. Metro stop, hoho bus stop and las ramblas are right there. The airport bus stop is across the square and there is also the corte ingles across the plaza. The rooms have nespresso machines and the capsules are replenished every day. Breakfast was also very good. The rooms are small, however you are probably not going to spend a lot of time there and if the weather is nice the patios are the place to be anyway. Here's the link

IMO no Spanish city hotel is worth the additional breakfast cost when all have excellent local cafes close by where you can get a good quality breakfast for around 9€ for 2 people. Expect fresh croissants or Churros, jam, coffee (far superior to hotel quality) or thick hot chocolate and orange juice squeezed to order rather than the powdered juice found in most hotels.
