Orient Bay or Marigot Bay

If you had one day on St Martin and wanted to relax and do some shopping where would you go? And why?

I forgot to say, we will be spending the day before sitting on a beach. I want to make sure I have good shopping options and yummy food. Does Orient Bay have a shopping district?

Orient is not a place to go to shop. Margiot is the place for shopping. Orietn is for a beach day....there are some tent vendors there as well for low value souveniers.

The Boardwalk area to the left of the pier, by the water taxi, or about a 15 min stroll! All the main shopping is one street over. If you want there are loungers for rent $5 ea and some inc a beer.

Orient is a beach, no shopping.

Thank you both for the info!!! It is a big help. I would have hated to get all the way to Orient bay and find out it was not what we wanted!!!
