Car rental in Cozumel

Is it worth renting a car? How are the roads? Any reviews or experiences on this recently? Are we better off just taking a taxi?

There is one very important question. Will the driver be sober ?

If not get a cab, you can work a deal for a tour around the island with stops at the best places, usually around $100 usd for the entire day.

We have spent 6 or so hours doing the party, eating and shopping with no hassles.

Buy the cabbie lunch where he suggests on the east side it'll be great.

 

If you choose to rent a car/jeep roads are good, town can be a little congested and watch for scooters pulling up on your right side. Rental places all give maps and its easy to get around.
