Just off the Breeze

We felt the ship was generally crowded when not in port. We stayed on the ship in the DR, and it was awesome having her to ourselves. A lot of rowdy kids this past week, and it seems not enough people to control them. My wife got hit in the arm by some kids throwing the ping pong paddles around on the golf deck.

I will never cruise in the summer time again, long story.

One of the reasons we started cruising in January many years ago; all of the kids are back in school after their Christmas break - nice and quiet ;)

hopefully you still were able to enjoy your trip

Same cruise, I love Carnival but this ship will never see me again....and the changes I only have one Carnival trip booked for the first time in years....if the next is the same I'm done.......Just posted this on our roll call....

Not so good for us, we were having a great cruise up until the second to the last sea day.......DS proposed in Curacao at sunset so that will always be memorable for us...met some fun people at the roulette wheel and we closed the casino a few nights …they were fun!!!..we all got food poisoning from dinner the sea day after Aruba......everyone fighting for the bathroom all night long....everyone at the same time was not a virus.......we also talked to others we met and many experienced the same thing.....even met people in the airport got it too....wasn't motion sickness from the symptoms which I'll spare you from........didn’t care for the Breeze at all after that....the smell the slow elevators ....glad this one is over........don’t care for the deck changes either…….going to start vacationing elsewhere…… damm almost made 3000 posts too:)

Oh and the dining room food not even average when compared to previous carnival cruises......also if you book a room in the back of the ship better not like it cool...those people were pissed and could be heard venting all over the ship......maybe that was the smell......:)

No tendering on this itinerary. Granted, it wasn't the best cruise but we had fun. You can't control the lack of manners by your cruisemates, that's why we'll never cruise in summer again. Plus, we live in FL, no need to get "warmer"

We also heard quite a few people complaining about the A/C. I guess it stopped working in a couple of sections of the ship with cabins. Mine in 9 Aft worked fine.

I love Carnival, but have noticed a general decline in service, food, entertainment over the years. I still find the cruises enjoyable though. Maybe I am just getting bored with Carnival. I have a cruise on the Liberty booked next month, so we'll see.

I also had 'issues' that could be contributed to food poisoning, but nothing too bad. Last year on the Dream I contracted Salmonella. I had to miss a week of work.

The lido buffet has a different theme everyday for lunch, for dinner its pretty much what they have in the MDR and for breakfast how much can you change breakfast options.

The dinner buffet in the lido has been bad the last 3 years. I dont know what it is plus most of the stuff they server in the MDR in the Lido are the things I would not order like basa fish in red sauce yuck, pork in something soupy, dried up looking or watery looking pasta dishes. I noticed when they had turkey with all the trimming it was decent salad bar was good and a few times the carving station was good but most of it bad. I useally eat in MDR for Dinner unless something prevents it. At lease 1 day I seem to eat it. For lunch there are so many options and its always good like she mentioned.

You got food poisoning that is awefull. I had it one time from wendys my DW and I was deathly sick for 3 days. I only was only food sick one time on vacation and that was Punta Cana honeymoon. Montazumas revenge for 3 days and i got it right when I got home.

Are you suggesting the smell was from all the little stinkers:o

I did not realize how many people do not like to cruise with kids.. I have 1 of my own and he is always a good kid. They love kids club too. I think they are fun to be around I think being around all old people is horrible and boring kids liven things up. The only time I get annoyed is on my spring break cruise when the late teens early 20;s folks take over the whole ship and are disrespectfull. But that is the time of year. Old people say they cruse certian times of the year to avoid kids but that is not true they cruise those times because it is so cheap. Hurricane season a family of 3 can cruise for $1000 on a 7 day inside cabin. In the Spring the same trip is $1900 for a inside for 3.

I love well behaved kids. I have one of my own and 2 grands. I still prefer to sail when most kids are in school. The ship is less crowded. At 62 I guess I am old in age but I am very young in spirit.

OP, thank you for the review. I'm sorry your cruise was not up to par.
