Questions: Book single; Guar.balcony, TA

I posted this on the NCL board but no takers so far! :( Thought I'd see if anybody on the Carnival boards knew the answers! You guys are smart!

After several CCL cruises, looking at an 11-night on NCL. So, first NCL and first experience with a TA.

1. Anybody every book as a single and then add the second person later? Currently that would be the only way for me to take advantage of a no-deposit deal the TA is offering, because the cost of the deposit has to be $500 or less, and this cruise is $400PP.

2. NCL offers a gurantee balcony room -- assigned later. Anybody ever do this or similar? Were you happy with your assignment?

3. For that matter, has anyone used an online TA? I know I can't spell out the name here but its where you look for CRUISES and then add a DOT and a COM.

Thank you!:D

I have booked 'single' and added a person at a later date. It was on Carnival. I had to pay the additional taxes/port charges for the extra person. I did book a guarantee and didn't know until right before the cruise what my cabin assignment was. I never use TA's, I just call Carnival direct and book with whatever PVP they give me. I have never been disappointed in my cabin assignments when booking guarantee.
