reanbr2000 Posted July 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2005 DF and I found this link on Monaco's website: http://www.aquavision-monaco.com/ Has anyone gone on one of these boat tours? Was it worthwhile? It looks like something that we would enjoy, but we would like some recommendations. Thank you!
mountainhouse Posted July 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2005 I'm curious too. I'd heard about Caulerpa taxifolia spreading through the area. It's a really bad algae that chokes sealife. It got it's start at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco ( oops! ), so I thought there wouldn't be much to view there. Nova did a special on it. Don't mean to be a downer, but this show made it sound like a very significant portion of the sealife was gone in areas of investation.
reanbr2000 Posted July 5, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted July 5, 2005 Thanks for that article. Unless I hear that someone recently has gone on one of these tours and seen a lot of marine life, it looks like we may just have to pass on this one. mountainhouse Posted July 5, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2005 I'm sorry to be the only one to answer, and have it be so negative. Did want to pass it on though. They don't have many pictures of sealife on their website, do they?
reanbr2000 Posted July 5, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted July 5, 2005 There is no need to apologize~ I really appreciate the info! You are right~ I hadn't noticed before that there aren't many wildlife pictures on their website~ only a lot of shots of the coastline. And considering we are on a cruise, I don't think I need to go on a separate boat tour to see beautiful coastlines. :) And for two people, the cost is over $25. Not a lot of money, but definitely something I'd like to spend elsewhere if it's not worthwhile.
